INDIEV was thrilled to welcome local Angelinos to our very first NBA Watch Party at our showroom. As Angelinos ourselves, we wanted to share the excitement of having our inner-city rivals, the Lakers and the Clippers, battle it out on the court and we were not disappointed.
Anticipation grew from the start as guests viewed highlights of their favorite team streaming right out of the INDI One. Lakers fans huddled around our white model while Clippers fans made their way to our blue model. Both sides couldn’t help but peek in the opposite car to view highlights of their competitor as well. Guests debated whether Lebron James or Kawhi Leonard was the better player, but everyone agreed that the INDI One’s ability to stream games live from anywhere life takes you makes it the best player in the auto industry.

At half-time, INDIEV hosted a raffle where a few lucky winners walked away with exclusive INDI gear. One lucky winner, B.Martin, scored our grand prize; tickets to a future Lakers vs. Clippers game. B.Martin is a local LA-based music producer, rapper, and die-hard Lakers fan who will finally get to watch his favorite team play in person. We were touched hearing him thank INDIEV and watching everyone in the room share his excitement as he shouted “lets goooo!”
The enthusiasm carried on past the halftime giveaways and remained consistent for the entire game. Even with some of LA’s best players out (Kawhi Leonard, Lebron James, Paul George), we were still at the edge of our seats thanks to Anthony Davis and Marcus Morris Sr. leading the scoring for each of their teams. It was a close game as the Lakers were up by 1 with 12.5 seconds left. Reggie Jackson ran the ball up the court and dribbled around a double team to get a layup right over Malik Monk. On the very next play with 4.1 seconds left and no timeouts remaining, Anthony Davis shot a buzzer-beater only for it to rattle out at the very end. The crowd at the INDI Showroom erupted with mixed cheers and cries of dismay as the Los Angeles Clippers won the night.
We are beyond thankful for everyone in the LA community who came in to help us cheer on our city’s NBA stars, and we cannot wait to see you all at our next event! Congratulations to the Los Angeles Clippers for winning this round in the Battle for LA.
