Senior Electric Propulsion System Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Electric Propulsion System Engineer skilled in development of electric propulsion/powertrain systems for battery electric vehicles for mass production.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop functionality, performance and reliability/durability of an electric propulsion system comprising an all-wheel-drive electric drive and controls, traction battery and controls, powertrain thermal management, AC and DC charging hardware and controls, etc.
- Work with vehicle team to set the relevant vehicle level mobility targets
- Own the mass production development plan with design, prototype manufacturing, controls and calibration and APQP for the electric propulsion system
REQUIREMENTS
- BS degree in engineering, physics, mathematics or other relevant fields required. Advanced degrees preferred
- Minimum 5 year of experience in automotive electric propulsion system development
- Good understanding of the working principle and control strategy of automotive inverters, permanent magnetic motors, geartrain, powertrain thermal management, traction battery and controls such as SOC, SOH and thermal protection, electric motor and battery thermal performance, charging, high voltage protection and NVH
- Minimum 2 years of experience in electric vehicle modeling and simulation with thorough knowledge in Matlab/Simulink or equivalent tools
- Systems thinker highly preferred
- Working knowledge of electric propulsion system calibration and diagnostics tools preferred
